silverwind e81df2d9a0 fix: return handler errors and panics as tool results (#230)
Fixes https://gitea.com/gitea/gitea-mcp/issues/229

https://gitea.com/gitea/gitea-mcp/pulls/227 left an unexpected handler error and a recovered panic as JSON-RPC errors, which tell the client the request itself failed and kill the session, as in https://gitea.com/gitea/gitea-mcp/issues/229. Both now return tool results.

Bo-Yi Wu 75f1adf979 feat!: support protocol 2026-07-28 over HTTP and add --bind (#227)
Adds MCP protocol `2026-07-28` over HTTP through the official Go SDK, and validates the `Origin` header on every request as the spec requires.

Tool and Gitea failures now come back as an ordinary `tools/call` result carrying `result.isError: true`, the way the SDK's own tool wrapper reports them. Malformed requests, unknown tools or methods, and server faults stay JSON-RPC errors.

Adds `-b, --bind` to narrow the listen address. The default still accepts every interface, so this is opt-in hardening. It matters because a request that omits `Authorization` falls back to the server's own token.

**Breaking: the HTTP endpoint no longer keeps a session per client.** What changes for a client:

1. `/mcp` accepts `POST` only, and answers `405` to `GET` or `DELETE`.
2. The server neither sends nor accepts `Mcp-Session-Id`, so there is no session handshake to perform.
3. There is no standalone SSE stream and no `Last-Event-ID` resumption. If a response stream breaks, send the whole request again under a new JSON-RPC id.

Clients that already speak current streamable HTTP need no changes. Anything relying on the session handshake or the standalone SSE stream should stay on the previous release.

Bo-Yi Wu efcbdbb17f refactor: replace mcp-go with the official MCP Go SDK (#223)
## Summary

Replace `github.com/mark3labs/mcp-go` with the official
`github.com/modelcontextprotocol/go-sdk v1.7.0`.

All 54 existing tools, scopes, CLI, `stdio` and HTTP (`/mcp`) modes, and
per-request authentication remain supported. This PR is limited to the SDK
equivalence migration; the stateless 2026 HTTP transport is deferred to a
follow-up PR.

## Verification

- Tool definitions were compared with `main` and matched for all 54 tools.
- `make lint`, `make fmt`, `go test -count=1 -race ./...`, `make build`, and
  `make tidy` pass.

yp05327 21aa4684d9 feat(cmd): add -S/--scope to load only selected tool scopes (#219)
`-O` / `--tools` can already narrow the exposed tool set, but it needs every tool spelled out by name. `-S` / `--scope` (`GITEA_SCOPES`) complements it by selecting whole scopes, using the same names the `Scope` column of the tool tables documents.

```bash
gitea-mcp -S issue,pull_request                     # only those scopes
gitea-mcp --scope repository,branch --tools get_me   # those scopes plus one extra tool
```

## What changed

- Each scope is one `tool.Tool` registry carrying a canonical name, so `operation/repo` is split into the six scopes its files already imply: `repository` (`repo.go` + `tree.go`), `file`, `branch`, `tag`, `commit`, `release`. The other twelve packages map 1:1, giving 18 scopes.
- The two allowlists combine as a **union**: with neither set every tool loads; with only `--tools` set behaviour is unchanged; with both set, the selected scopes' tools plus the individually named tools load. `-r` / `GITEA_READONLY` still hides write tools on top.
- Scope names are normalized on input (case, spaces, hyphens), so `Pull Request`, `pull-request` and `PULL_REQUEST` all resolve to `pull_request`. Unknown names only warn and list the valid scopes, mirroring how `--tools` treats unknown tool names.
- The `Scope` column of all three READMEs now uses the canonical names verbatim, so it doubles as the reference for `--scope`, and `TestReadmeToolTables` compares that column against the registry in both directions — no translation table needed.
- Flag parsing moves from `cmd.init()` into `Execute()`. `main()` only ever calls `Execute()`, so this is behaviourally equivalent, and it makes the `cmd` package testable at all: previously the `init()` parse of `os.Args` hit `flag.CommandLine`'s `ExitOnError` on `go test`'s own `-test.*` flags.

## Verification

`make fmt`, `make lint-go` (0 issues) and `go test ./...` all pass. New tests cover the filter matrix (no filters / scope-only / tools-only regression / union / read-only interaction / unknown scope), scope-name uniqueness across `domainTools`, and the flag+env parsing and normalization.

Smoke-tested `tools/list` over stdio against the built binary:

| flags | tools exposed |
| :-- | :-- |
| _none_ | 54 (identical to `main`) |
| `-S branch` | `create_branch`, `delete_branch`, `list_branches` |
| `--scope 'Pull Request,TAG'` | the 4 `pull_request` + 4 `tag` tools |
| `-O get_me` | `get_me` (unchanged) |
| `-S commit -O get_me` | `get_commit`, `list_commits`, `get_me` |
| `-S file -r` | `get_dir_contents`, `get_file_contents` |
| `-S bogus,issue` | the 4 `issue` tools, plus a warning naming the valid scopes |

Lunny Xiao 18fcd663e0 docs: rewrite the tool tables and slim down the READMEs (#215)
Fixes https://gitea.com/gitea/gitea-mcp/issues/214.

The tool tables listed tools that had not existed for several releases. They are regenerated from the registry, gain an `Access` column so it is visible what disappears under `-r` / `GITEA_READONLY`, and get their fine-grained scopes back. `TestReadmeToolTables` now compares them against the registry in both directions, for every translation.

Other corrections from verifying the prose against the source: the pagination parameter is `per_page`, not `perPage`; Go 1.26 is required, not 1.24; the Chinese READMEs were missing the OpenCode and Mistral Vibe sections.

Also trimmed the drifted table of contents and the sections the intro and `gitea-mcp --help` already cover, and dropped the heading emoji. `CLAUDE.md` had its own stale tool list, so it now points at `AGENTS.md` like gitea/gitea does.

Martin Mikula bcefbaa9c1 feat: add --tools flag to filter exposed MCP tools (#167)
Adds `-O`/`-tools` CLI flag and `GITEA_TOOLS` environment variable
accepting a comma-separated list of tool names. When set, only the
listed tools are exposed to MCP clients, which lets AI agents trim
their tool context. Composes with `--read-only`. Unknown names are
logged at startup so typos surface instead of failing silently.
